National Hairstylist Appreciation Day is April 30! Like the other important people in your life who lift you up and make you feel more confident, stylists deserve to be celebrated. You might be wondering, what do I get for someone who makes me feel beautiful? Here are seven ideas to help you get started.
1. Spread the Love
Refer your friends! Your stylist works hard to build their book of business and create success for themselves. You can add to their success by referring your friends and family to them. A stylist who does what they love day in and day out is a happy stylist. Another great way to show your appreciation is to leave a review. Remember: whether they’re an established stylist or a budding student, a review can go along way in building their resume!
2. Book Again!
Another way to show your appreciation is to book your next appointment with your stylist right away. Show them you loved your cut or color and get your trim or touch up on the calendar ASAP. This shows dedication and helps them plan their schedules ahead of time. While last-minute appointments are OK once in awhile, booking in advance helps them plan for vacays and other guests.
3. Write From the Heart
Never underestimate the power of a handwritten note or card. Write a little line or two about what you appreciate about your stylist, what you look forward to at each appointment and everything you love about being their guest! You can even step it up a notch and buy hairstylist-specific cards to pour your heart into.
4. Ask Questions
Not sure how to show appreciation? Ask them! Take the guesswork out of gift giving and ask them straight up. Don’t worry, it’s not weird to want to give someone you appreciate a gift that they would be happy to receive. Maybe they want a shoulder to lean on sometime, maybe a few words of affirmation or maybe even a social media shoutout.
5. Give a Gift
A gift could be something like a personalized tote bag like this one on Etsy, a cute accessory to jazz up their all-black attire or even something as simple as their favorite coffee on a busy morning. Your hardworking stylist is sure to appreciate even the smallest gesture.
