Back to School: 7 Self-Care Tips to Get You Ready for School
It’s that time of year once again! Heading back to school means new friends and fun experiences with unforgettable memories to make. With all of that fun in mind, we want to make sure you’re ready to take on all the ups and downs that come with school life. Working hard isn’t the only thing that’s important during the school year– you are too! Here are seven self-care tips to help you take care of you.
1. Soak and Relax in The Tub
To let out those before-school jitters, fill up a warm bathtub and use a bath bomb or stress-free soaking salts. For the full calming effect we always recommend pairing this with your favorite beverage and current binge-worthy Netflix show.
2. Face Mask and Charcoal Scrub
Want to feel refreshed and re-energized so you can take on your new school experience? We recommend using a face mask or a charcoal scrub to wipe off the day’s stresses. Using one of these two products helps take off any dirt and oils that you don’t need on your skin. You’ll be winning when you feel replenished and ready to take on anything.
3. Go to Bed Early
Make sure that you build a routine of going to bed early before school starts up. Sleep is necessary to stay focused and happy. Not only that, but beauty sleep is an actual thing! Here are some other benefits of getting enough sleep:
- Collagen in your skin is produced when you sleep, which means fewer wrinkles.
- You’ll have less prominent dark circles and puffy eyes.
- Your hair is able to grow healthier and fuller because of increased blood flow while you sleep.
4. Step Up Your Skincare Routine
Just like it’s important to have a solid sleeping schedule, you should also do the same thing to your skincare routine. It’s important that you follow the basic steps for regular skincare based on your skin type. Always make sure that you cleanse, tone and moisturize. Building a skincare routine can at first be difficult, but your skin will thank you when you find something that works for it!
5. Grab a Calming Cup of Tea
One of the easiest ways to relax before you go to school or settle down after a good day of learning is to grab a cup of herbal tea. Calm your senses and take care of yourself by spending some time meditating and reflecting on your day.
6. Relax With Essential Oils
Essential oils are a great way to regenerate yourself and help you focus on your tasks at hand. Here are some great scents to choose from to put into your diffuser:
- Lavender has a calming effect that eases tension.
- Peppermint invigorates and refreshes.
- Tangerine energizes your senses.
- Bergamot refreshes and renews.
7. Spruce Up Your Look
To get the most out of your first day of school, make sure you are well-prepared to look good and feel good. Plan out your cute new outfit and do a hairstyle that is simple and makes you feel great! You don’t have to go overboard on your back to school look, but make sure you still have fun and incorporate your unique and individual style.
