WHY DOUGLAS J
A faster path to a real career.
Skip the years. Keep the outcome.
While a traditional degree can take four years and tens of thousands in debt, our programs get you licensed and working in months, with the hands-on skills employers are actually looking for.
Real clients, real experience.
You’re not just practicing on mannequins. Our clinic floors are working salons and spas, so you’re building real client experience, and real confidence, before you graduate.
60+ years of getting this right.
We’ve been training beauty professionals for over six decades, with 5 campuses across Michigan and Tennessee. That’s not a startup school figuring it out, it’s a proven track record.
Financial aid removes the guesswork.
Yes, it costs less than college, and most students still use financial aid, grants, or scholarships to cover it. A financial aid coordinator is available for every campus to walk you through exactly what you qualify for.
Support that doesn't end at graduation.
Career fairs, guest speakers, resume prep, and mock interviews all come standard. Every program includes career placement support to help you land your first role.
Outcomes that speak for themselves.
92% of students graduate. 90%+ pass their licensure exam. You won’t just leave with a credential, you’ll leave ready.
“Douglas J is the Harvard of beauty schools. They don’t just teach hair, they teach you professionalism, business etiquette, and how to carry yourself with confidence.” – Hayley, East Lansing Graduate
