Creativity, education, and a shared passion for beauty came together at the 2026 Douglas J Center Stage Hair Show! Held September 27 at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Michigan. The event brought beauty professionals, industry educators, students, and future stylists together for an afternoon of inspiration.
This year was especially exciting because we invited 20 prospective Douglas J students, along with a guest, to join us and get a firsthand look at the industry they’re considering joining.
Learning From Industry Leaders
Center Stage 2026 featured internationally recognized artists Ray Civello and Lupe Voss, alongside guest artists Jay Mahmood and Cole Thompson.
The event celebrated the creativity and technical skills that make the beauty industry so exciting. From professional artistry to fresh ideas and industry education, attendees had the opportunity to see experienced professionals share their passion for their craft.

Giving Future Students a Look at the Beauty Industry
One of our favorite parts of this year’s event was welcoming prospective students and their guests.
Choosing a beauty school is a big decision, and we wanted to give future students a chance to experience the energy and creativity of the industry firsthand.
Instead of just hearing about a career in beauty, they had the opportunity to attend a professional hair show, see industry artists in action, and get a better feel for what makes this career path so unique.
It’s one more way Douglas J hopes to help future students picture themselves in the beauty industry.
