Each Douglas J Michigan Institution Includes Members of Beacon Class of 2025

At Douglas J Institute, we are committed to helping our students go beyond the classroom and excel in the beauty industry. One of the most prestigious opportunities for beauty school students is the Beacon Student Program, an elite initiative hosted by the Professional Beauty Association (PBA).

Each year, Beacon selects a group of top-performing students from across the country, providing them with exclusive networking, mentorship, and career-building opportunities with leading industry influencers and prestigious salons. This program is designed to help students and recent graduates stand out, build connections, and fast-track their careers in the beauty industry.

Douglas J is proud to celebrate our students who have been selected for the Beacon Class of 2025! Their hard work, dedication, and passion for their craft have earned them a spot in this esteemed program.

What It Takes to Be Selected for Beacon.

Beacon is a highly competitive program, with students across the country applying to be part of this elite experience. To be considered, students must demonstrate exceptional talent, professionalism, and dedication to their craft. The application process includes:

  • A Beautista Portfolio showcasing their technical skills and artistry.
  • A video introduction highlighting their personality, passion, and goals.
  • A social media portfolio demonstrating their ability to market themselves and engage with the beauty industry.
  • A letter of recommendation from an instructor or industry professional, vouching for their skill, work ethic, and potential.

Applications are reviewed by a panel of industry judges, including salon owners, manufacturers, and distributors, who evaluate each submission based on creativity, professionalism, and future potential in the beauty industry.

What Beacon Attendees Experience.

For students selected to participate, Beacon offers an unparalleled experience filled with education, networking, and career-building opportunities. This year, the event takes place in Orlando, Florida, giving students access to some of the most exciting events in the beauty industry, including:
