Taking the leap!
The field of cosmetology is always growing and there will always be a demand for career opportunities as beauty professionals. If you have a passion for beauty, creativity, and helping others feel confident and beautiful, Cosmetology is the career for you!
Deciding to take the leap towards your dream career is exciting, but how will you be paying for school? Are scholarships, grants, or financial aid options?
Beauty schools that are accredited, like Douglas J Institute accept Federal Financial Aid. If you are eligible, you could receive financial aid grants and loans when you fill out and apply for a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, otherwise known as a FAFSA.
All Douglas J campuses participate in the Federal Direct Student Loan programs as well as the Pell Grant program. Qualifying students may receive Pell Grants, Subsidized and Unsubsidized student loans and parents of dependent students may apply for the PLUS loan.
At Douglas J Aveda, we have a number of financial aid options available to all our students, and the first step in that process is to look at potential scholarship opportunities that our students may qualify for. Below is a list of scholarships that offer a range of opportunities for our cosmetology, esthiology, and barbering programs. To qualify for cosmetology licensure, you must attend a licensed school and complete the state’s minimum required training hours and then take and pass the state’s cosmetology board exams. Applying for types of financial aid is a great way to start planning for your future!
As an accredited beauty school program, you can get the support you need to pay for beauty school. No matter what your situation is, you don’t have to let the cost hold you back. Talk to our team at Douglas J Institute to learn more about applying for scholarships and financial aid!
