Scholarships & Grants for Opportunities
At Douglas J, we have a number of financial aid options available to all our students, and the first step in that process is to look at potential scholarship opportunities that our students may qualify for. Below is a list of scholarships that offer a range of opportunities for our cosmetology, esthiology, massage therapy and barbering programs. DOUGLAS J’s NATURAL TALENT SCHOLARSHIP
Douglas J’s Natural Talent Scholarship program is an annual scholarship contest open to all high school seniors, awarding tuition dollars for our Cosmetology or Barbering program. The 2-phase contest is a combination of written essay and hands-on model styling in one of our campus locations.
ALICE MADDEN BARTON SCHOLARSHIP- THE GREAT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Great Scholarship Program provides over $100,000 in scholarships to cosmetology and barbering students each year. Students can be awarded up to $5,000 and the program is open all year to apply.
BEAUTY AS A BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP
Beauty as a Business is a beauty school scholarship program focused on the business side of the industry. The scholarship is awarded to students who best showcase how they use social media to build their brand and business.
BEAUTY CHANGES LIVES SCHOLARSHIPS
Established in 2013, Beauty Changes Lives is a non-profit organization offering a range of scholarships to cosmetology, barbering, massage and esthetics students.
PROFESSIONAL BEAUTY ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS
The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) is a fantastic beauty industry ally and offers an array of scholarships to new and current beauty school students, including the Ivy Beauty Scholarship, Milady Rise Scholarship, My Salon Suite Scholarship and more.
AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF COSMETOLOGY SCHOOLS
American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) partners with industry sponsors to offer scholarships and grants to deserving cosmetology students. Multiple applications are open throughout the year.

With Nitro by Sallie Mae, you can get matched to scholarships for beauty schools. Every scholarship listed is up-to-date and new scholarships are added daily.
ONE PULSE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The onePULSE Foundation awards 49 scholarships annually, each up to $10,000 for use at an accredited institution of higher learning, including beauty schools. Their mission is to provide academic opportunities—honoring the aspirations of all 49 Angels—to recipients who embody love, hope, unity, acceptance, courage and strength.

THE MASSAGE ENVY EDUCATOR SCHOLARSHIP
Every year, the Massage Envy Educator Scholarship awards 5 massage schools across the U.S. a $10,000 grant for their massage therapy students.
